Do you know the answers?

4 questions most hotels cannot answer

The budget sits in a spreadsheet, the campaigns in the agency's e-mails, and the spend on four platforms. What is missing is one place where it all stands — and which says what is actually running.

1

Are there ad platforms we have connected but do not use?

2

Are we spending more or less on ads than last year?

3

What is the total marketing budget — and how is it split between agency and own campaigns?

4

How many campaigns are running this year, and how many of them are active right now?

This is what you see

Every campaign — budget, period and status

The campaigns stand as a plan across the year with budget per platform and per month. The spend from the ad platforms is fetched automatically and placed alongside.

  • ✓Spend from the platforms — Google, Meta, LinkedIn and ChatGPT — fetched automatically, held up against last year
  • ✓The plan as a timeline — every campaign with period, type, audience and message
Ad spend

The spend from the ad platforms — next to the plan

The plan says what has been set in motion. The spend says what is actually running: Google, Meta, LinkedIn and ChatGPT are fetched automatically every night and held up against last year.

  • ✓Spend per platform — Google, Meta, LinkedIn and ChatGPT — fetched automatically, no data entry
  • ✓Against the same period last year — so you can see whether the budget has moved — and where
  • ✓Clicks and conversions — next to the money, platform by platform
  • ✓Platforms without spend — connected but silent — so you can decide whether the campaign is paused or the account is missing

Questions and answers

What hotels ask us

Do we have to enter the campaigns ourselves?
Yes. The campaigns in the plan — name, type (agency or own), status, period, budget, platforms, goals, audience and message — are entered in the module with "New campaign". Only the ad spend is fetched automatically from the platforms. The ad campaigns from the platforms can then be linked to a campaign in the plan under the "Ads" tab in the campaign window, so you see spend, clicks, impressions and conversions for that exact campaign.
Which ad platforms can be connected — and how often is the spend fetched?
Google Ads, Meta Ads and LinkedIn Ads are connected with your login at the platform, after which you pick the client account. ChatGPT Ads is connected with an API key. The spend is fetched for the first time right after connecting and then automatically every night. The "Ads spend" tab shows the spend in the selected period — year to date to begin with — held up against the same period last year, the spend per month for the last 12 months and the ad campaigns with spend, clicks and impressions. If you do not have access to the accounts yourselves, you can send your agency a secure link so they can connect them for you.
Do cancelled campaigns count towards the budget?
Yes. All campaigns in the selected year count towards "Campaigns this year", "Total budget", the agency and own cards and both budget charts — including those with the status Cancelled or Completed. The same goes for a campaign that runs across a year end: it counts with its full budget in both years. The timeline shows only campaigns with the status Active by default; choose "Status: all" to see the ones the cards count. If the total is to show what you actually spend, the cancelled campaigns must be cleared out of the plan.
What does «active» mean in the plan?
"Active" is a status you set on the campaign yourselves — not something calculated from the dates. A campaign with the status Active counts as active even after its end date has passed, and a campaign running according to its dates does not count if it has another status. Both "N active" under "Campaigns this year" and the timeline's default view are based on the status. So go through the statuses regularly, for example every quarter. "Active campaigns" on the "Ads spend" tab is something else: the ad campaigns the platforms themselves report as active.
